  • 1 ½ tbsp white sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup white sugar for coating
  • 1 ½ tsp ground cinnamon

Chocolate sauce

  • 100 g dark chocolate melts
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water, vegetable oil, white sugar, and salt. Bring to boil then turn off the heat.
  • In a bowl, mix flour and sugar water mixture. Mix until the dough is formed. Transfer in a piping bag with star tip.
  • Meanwhile, combine sugar and cinnamon for coating. Set aside.
  • In a pan over medium heat, add the cooking oil. Once the oil is hot enough, pipe down the pieces of churros about 5-6 inches long, cut them with scissors. Deep-fry until golden brown.
  • Drain excess oil by allowing it to rest in a wire rack for a few minutes. Then, immediately toss it in sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  • To make the chocolate sauce, combine dark chocolate melts and heavy cream in a saucepan over low heat. Mix until well melted and combined.
  • Serve churros with hot chocolate sauce.
