Ingredients

  • 3 large potatoes unpeeled, thinly sliced into ¼ inch thick
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Chinese Five Spice powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 cups cooking oil

Instructions

  • Cut the unpeeled potatoes into thin slices, about ¼ inch thick. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, Chinese Five Spice powder, salt and pepper. Alternatively, you can use the store-brought Crispy-Fry or any fried chicken breading mix. On a separate bowl, pour the milk and set aside.
  • Heat a pan over medium heat, add cooking oil. While the oil is heating, dip potato slices into the milk then coat it with breading mix.
  • Carefully drop each potato slices into the pan and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove from the pan and drain excess oil by placing over a paper towel. Serve with ranch sauce, ketchup or mayonnaise.
