Ingredients

6cupwater
4pcsdried bay leaves
1cupparsleychopped
¼cuptable salt
3tbspground black pepper
Instructions
In a large pot over medium heat, add the water, dried bay leaves, salt and pepper. Place the whole chicken into a steamer basket and put it on top of the pot. Cover and steam it for 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender.
Remove the chicken from the steamer and allow it to cool for 5 minutes. Rub a generous amount of table salt and ground black pepper on the skin of the chicken.
Using a deep-frier or a large pot over medium heat, add the cooking oil and deep-fry the chicken for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. For a crispier skin, fry the chicken twice for another 5 minutes. Serve with sweet potato fries and banana ketchup.
