Puto Bumbong Recipe is a bamboo steamed rice cake sold and eaten during Christmas season in the Philippines. It is usually sold near a Catholic Church and cooked together with Bibingka.

Ingredients
3cupsglutinous rice flour
1 ½cupswater
½cuppurple yam
3drops violet food color
¼cupbutter
½cupfresh grated coconut
½cupbrown sugar
Instructions
Mix glutinous rice, water, purple yam in a bowl
Add the water gradually.
Drop some food color and mix well.
Shape into worm like object using your hands.
Put in a plate with aluminum cover.
Steam for 5 minutes.
Brush with butter then garnish with fresh coconut and brown sugar.
Serve
Note: You can use the bamboo steamer if you have it to steam the mixture.
