Filipino Style Spaghetti Recipe

This Filipino-style spaghetti recipe is very unique from the traditional tomato base spaghetti. It has the sweetness from banana ketchup and milk. Try this recipe and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 500 g spaghetti noodles
  • 1 ½ tbsp salt for boiling pasta
  • 6 cups water for boiling pasta
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 300 g minced beef
  • 3 pcs red hotdog sliced
  • 250 g tomato sauce
  • 50 g tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp banana ketchup
  • 50 ml evaporated milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar brown or white
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper

Instructions

  • Bring a pot of boiling salted water and cook the pasta for 8-10 minutes or until al dente.

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, add the oil. Sweat the onion and garlic until soft and translucent.

  • Add the minced beef and cook for 3 minutes or until brown. Add the hotdogs, tomato sauce and banana ketchup. Stir and cook for another 3 minutes.

  • Add the evaporated milk and brown sugar. Adjust it according to your taste preference. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Place the cooked pasta in a platter then pour the sauce over the top. Sprinkle grated cheese and enjoy!

Note: adjust evaporated milk and sugar depending on your preferred sweetness
