French Toast Recipe

French toast is usually prepared by soaking a slice of bread in a milk and egg mixture. Throughout time, variations of this tasty treat have emerged.

Ingredients

  • 6 slices raisin bread
  • 2 tbsp butter

Egg Mixture

  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup fresh milk fresh milk or evaporated milk
  • ½ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Toppings

  • maple syrup or honey
  • butter
  • fresh or frozen mixed berries

Instructions

  • Using a bowl, beat the eggs then add the milk, cinnamon powder and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  • In a pan over medium heat, add the butter until melted.
  • Soak each slice of bread into the egg mixture then put it in a pan. Cook for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove from the pan and transfer into a serving plate. Drizzle some maple syrup or honey and serve with mixed berries.
