    Siomai Recipe the Philippines is known as a country that passed through a number of colonizers. Since then, traditions, culture, race, religion, and even taste for food have been passed along too. In fact, the Chinese has passed many things when it comes to cuisine specialty.

    One of the favorites and most craved recipes is Siomai or dumplings. During the Ming and Qing dynasty, it was known to be a product sold on the sideline with tea. Nowadays, everyone strives to make their own version of this recipe at home.

    Siomai stalls are now found almost everywhere. Siomai Recipe has different versions such as Pork, Beef, and Chicken Siomai. It can be steamed or fried. It always comes with soy sauce and lemon to dip in. Some prefer a chili sauce to it to add a certain level of spiciness.

    It’s then wrapped in a wonton wrapper and is fried or steamed depending on your preference. This dish can be eaten using toothpicks for handling. Some eat it as it is, and some love munching it with rice.

    This dish is really popular, yet you can hardly see them being served on formal occasions such as weddings.

    Siomai is made up of ground beef or pork, and it’s mixed along with some spices such as pepper and salt.

    Ingredients
      

    • ½ kg ground pork
    • ½ cup onion
    • ¾ cup carrots
    • 1 fresh egg
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp pepper
    • wanton wrapper

    Instructions
     

    • Combine the ground pork, carrots and onion in a mixing bowl.
    • Beat the egg and add it in the bowl.
    • Add the pepper and salt and mix well.
    • Put a spoon full of meat mixture on the wrapper and seal.
    • Oil the steamer and steam for 20 - 30 minutes.
    • Serve
