The existence of the Oreo cookie dates back to the year 1912. According to records, that year marked the first-ever public appearance of this cookie. Compared to the other existing cookies at that time, people find the taste and concept of Oreo unique and original. Instead of labeling it as butter cookies just like the others, it was made of chocolate and vanilla. Surprisingly, the combination of flavors made a strong impression on the public. And even until now, many people around the world - including Filipinos - still love it so much.
There are scientific claims to cookies n’ cream, according to South Dakota State University. They also claim to have original rights to the flavor. They said they used dairy science to achieve the flavor we currently enjoy.
But try searching the internet and you’ll see several people claiming who discovered the flavor. Another claim refers to a woman from Wisconsin who used Oreos as a dessert flavor. Sadly, the company gave her the notice to stop using their trademark for her variant. Hence, they changed the flavor’s name.
This issue made the public have their own opinions and the one thing they similarly believe is that it came from the Western part of the world.
