Life in the Philippines is not that easy. Don’t get me wrong, it is a beautiful country - it is my country. But we can’t deny the fact that it is a third world country, and many of its people are having financial troubles. There is no scarcity in food since we are rich in natural resources. However, not everyone can afford them. Thus, food manufacturing companies provided canned goods that most Filipinos can afford. This includes the Pinoy favorite sardines.

When I say favorite, it can either mean they love it or they have no other choice but to eat it. Despite the reason, there is no doubt that it can become a tasty meal when it gets cooked. Or even if it is eaten straight out of the can. That is the magic of sardines.

This recipe is very much well-known when it comes to this canned good. By adding tomatoes and eggs to sardines, it becomes a whole new dish. Once you try it, you’ll want to make more of it.

Tips How to Cook Ginisang Sardinas Na May Itlog

    • Get your favorite brand of canned sardines from the market. Or if you prefer the gourmet bottled ones, that is fine too.
    • Squeeze in a few slices of lemon to reduce the strong fishy smell. It will also add taste to the dish and can be used as a garnish.
    • If you want to give it a spicy kick, use the hot variation of sardines. Then add some chili while you’re at it.

Who wouldn’t want an affordable and delicious dish? This ginisang sardinas dish may be the one you’re looking for.
